Problem Solved

I was finally able to fix the issues I was having by restoring an older “restore point.” We are back in operation again, updating the databases and working on the websites.I received a call from John Campbell (aka Johnny the Baptist) this morning. I enjoyed talking with him, and found the call to be an encouragement and very uplifting! Thanks for the kind words Johnny! Source: Cyber-Missions...

I Peter 5:8

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: I am very conservative. I run anti-virus and anti-spyware software (three different versions). I had an issue last month with some malware that hijacked search results (it would insert its own web pages when you clicked on what seemed to be a valid search result). All of the software I had would not resolve the issue. I searched for a solution on the web and found some software that resolved my issues. Yesterday the search result hijacking reared its ugly head again. At this time, there does not seem to be a solution that will work, still looking for it, but it is basically eating up all my time. I have several machines here, so I am not dead in the water, but trying to clean up the main machine I use is simply wasting a lot of valuable time. We covet your prayers for this ministry because the adversary is alive, well and fighting hard! Source: Cyber-Missions...

Gatewood Part 4

More Alaska info Pastor Paul Price and I sat down today and set up the templates on gatewoodbc.com. He has the basic templates set up, and since we are probably going to have an ice storm here tomorrow, he will probably have time to fill the templates with content. You can watch the site as he builds it.They still have not gotten back to me about the classes, so I am in a holding pattern on the school (MSCA).Maureen is waiting for test results to come back on the cancer they removed. The test will determine whether or not she will need to get chemo in addition to the required radiation therapy. She has two additional tests (one of which is scheduled for tomorrow (but we may be in for and ice storm). As always your prayer for Maureen (and Jessica – we are no closer to finding a cause for her health problems) are coveted.I had rescued a domain for another church in Alaska, and was contacted by a member. They put up a website on Yahoo, and asked me to point the nameservers to their Yahoo account name servers. I did so (don't remember exactly when). The domain came up for renewal Christmas eve. Neither the pastor nor the technical contact acknolwedged my email. I renewed the domain for them. The website went down 24 hours ago. Not...

Gatewood Part 3

Alaska very cold! The Pastor of Gatewood Baptist Church and I could not get together yesterday. We will be rescheduling for early next week.Grace Baptist Church in Anchorage Alaska was the church referenced earlier. They had lost their .org domain, registered the .com domain, which was no longer working. Vonage (which is good phone service) unfortunately returned a recording indicating the lines were “temporarily busy” for five days. Yesterday I used my cell phone to call the number and found out it was disconnected. Subsequent research showed “Independent Baptist Church of Anchorage” was now at the same address of the old Grace Baptist Church.  My assumption is that Grace Baptist closed it doors, or merged with Independent Baptist Church of Anchorage. In any case, Grace Baptist Church appears to have gone away.  So will their domain. I could not find another Independent Baptist work in Alaska using the name “Grace Baptist Church” or I would have given them a great domain!I was bothered by the fact that when you did a search on the Baptist Ministries web site, you could search for a church and come up with multiple results ( a search on the word “Tulsa” returns 10 Independent Baptist Churches andone missionary to New Guinea). There was no further information except for the ministry name and location. These churches could have 20 categories associated with all the ministries...
