Bible Course Comment

Comment from a student in NC… I think what blesses my heart the most in this lesson is the fact that as a Christian God doesn't see me as of what I deserve nor of what I am now as a child of God, but praise be to God He only sees me in the righteousness of His Son Jesus...

Bible Course Comments

From a prisoner in W. VA. Question was: What is the most important thing you have learned in this course? His answer: To pick out one thing would not do justice to the course. I found many gems of truth in Jesus throughout the lessons. I am more at peace with myself and more in tune with God's will for my life, for doing them....

He Is Risen!

Matthew 28:6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.      Today Maureen and I had the pleasure of attending a sunrise service at one of our supporting churches, Calvary Baptist Church in Mesquite Texas. It was a blessing as we watched the sun rise behind Pastor Duane Myers, listening to the message from Matthew 28 reminding us that we serve a risen Saviour! It could not be said of any of the other gods that men serve "He is Risen!"      After the sunrise service we had the pleasure of a sweet fellowship over breakfast. If you are in the Mesquite area, Calvary Baptist Church is a friendly little church with a big heart. They serve our risen savior with a zeal.      We have been hosting a website for Calvary Baptist Church since 2009. They were instrumental in getting us involved in the East Baptist Texas Camp Meeting back in 2009, which really gave us a kick start in our hosting ministry in Texas. We are hoping to be attending the ETBCM again this July.  ...

Hail Damage

After the hail damage to the vinyl siding on Thursday night, we were advised to contact a contract that does business with our insurance company before we filed a claim. The contractor came out this morning, and to my amazement, advised me that in addition to the damage to the siding, the window frames, the screens and the wind turbines, we need a new roof. A new roof?      We had the roof replaced in April of 2014! Not even two years old. It was an upgraded roof with a fifty year limited warranty. Shouldn’t have to worry about a roof for a long time right? Wrong.      I went up the ladder and the contractor showed me where the hail stones broke the shingles. Amazing. The warranty does not cover “acts of God” like hurricanes tornados and of course hail damage. The roof would not leak (at least not for a while) but we would not be able to sell the house according to the contractor if we wanted to. I am more concerned about water damage from the holes in the vinyl siding, and there is no point in paying my deductible to replace the siding without simply replacing the whole roof. What a pain! Any way – we filed a claim with the insurance company. Guess we can see what else was damaged in the...

Thunderstorm

We had a brief but nasty thunderstorm last night, probably golf ball sized hail. Tore up the siding on our house, and all the screens on the west side of our house. We were blessed though, no broken glass, and windshields on vehicles are in tact. Praise the...
