Pray for Believers Arrested in Iran + +

Our local ministry partners in Iran have sent us a prayer request to share with you: “Iranian Christians request prayer for two believers who were arrested last week.”

Behnam Ersali and Davood Rasooli, both Christian converts, had arranged to meet in the city of Mashhad, but it is believed that Iranian intelligence intercepted the calls and learned of the meeting.

Behnam was already in Mashhad, staying at a friend’s house, when six security agents raided the house and arrested him and a friend. After a few hours in detention, the friend was released, but Behnam remains detained and his whereabouts are unknown.

Meanwhile, two security agents arrested Davood at his home as he was preparing to leave for the meeting. The agents took him away, but later returned to search his house and confiscate some books and other personal belongings. Friends believe he is in solitary confinement and undergoing interrogation.

Please pray that Behnam and Davood will know God’s strengthening power and wisdom to stand up to interrogation.

Pray that God will encourage their families and friends and protect those close to the two men.

Pray that Behnam and Davood will be released soon from arrests that appear to be solely based on their Christian faith and desire to meet other Christians.
